A joint meeting of Groups in Galway and the Irish Geometry Conference will take place at the National University of Ireland, Galway from 18–20 May 2022. Everyone is invited to attend!

We are planning for this to be an in-person event. Most lectures will be neither recorded nor live-streamed. A small number of speakers will attend remotely.

All participants are invited to contribute to a poster session on Thursday afternoon.

There is no registration fee, but to help us plan the meeting, we ask all participants to please register using this link.

Conference dinner

If you wish to attend the conference dinner, please register during the conference. At that point, please also inform us of dietary requirements that you may have.

The dinner is free for speakers and supported participants. Regular participants are asked to pay €35 (cash only) before the lunch break on Thursday; postgraduate students will be asked to pay a reduced amount. Please note that all participants will need to pay for their drinks.

Travel

Galway can be reached by public transportation from Dublin, Shannon, and Knock airports. Visitors from continental Europe are likely to find Dublin airport the most convenient choice.

There are frequent direct buses between Dublin airport and Galway city operated by Citylink and GoBus; the journey takes about three hours. Bus Éireann operates buses from Dublin, Shannon, and Knock airports to Galway.

You can also take a train from Dublin city.

It takes about 15–20 minutes to walk from the Coach Station or Railway Station to the NUI Galway campus.

Accommodation

There are numerous hotels and guest houses located in Galway city; these can be easily found via the usual websites. We recommend that you book early.
